Response 1 September 27, 1999 [David,] I think ideally there should be no discrepancy, as seen from the bench. The fact that there is a distinction is the fault of our profession ... as well as its "raison d' etre." Without the imposition of practical interpretations and definitions of such nebulous terminology, we'd have every judge ruling according to his or her own preconceived ideas of morality and truth.
