Again a voice best understood in the context of the times, when the pseudo-Darwinian notion that "nation" and "race" were equivalents, and that there were superior and inferior ones. As we draw to the close of the 20th century, we can see that the 20th century was spent in resolving the philiosophical disputes of the 19th. Both world wars were arguably fought over the aforementioned Darwinian notion (thus if some nations were superior, there should be a big fight to see which is most superior and that nation/ethnicity should, by means of imperialism, dominate the globe and people it), and the second half was dominated by the philosophy of Marx (i.e. the Cold War). Here we see nothing more than a hateful display of nationalism (which is what racism was called back then since the two terms were comingled). Unfortunately, niether Nationalism (witness Rwanda), nor Marxism (witness mainland China) have departed the scene at the outset of the 21st century, but hopefully we have learned collectively from the experiences of this century...
